meditation timer

When (not “if”") you meditate you need to know when to stop. If you’re anything like me, your eyes are at least partially closed when you sit. And if you’re focused inward, are you watching the clock too? No, and most alarm clocks aren’t well suited to double duty as a meditation timer.

So I made a series of simple meditation timers, varying in length from 10 to 60 minutes. Start, sit, and wait for the bell rousing you from your meditation. Simple? Yes but so is the problem we’re tying to solve.

Use this free online meditation timer right now, on this page. It can be set in increments of 5 minutes. It can optionally begin a bell or end with three bells. Clicking the bells toggles the sound. It’s a countdown timer. You can download this free Flash meditation timer and use it on your own web site.

A simpler tool is an MP3 of silence for a given interval ending with a single bell. Right click to listen to or download one of these MP3 files:
