the swiss drink made with milk whey

Red Rivella and Green Rivella
When my son Bryan and I visited Switzerland it was summer, and hot. That’s when I discovered Rivella. Made and sold in Switzerland, it’s a unique soft drink made with milk whey.

Commons sense would dictate that those who are lactose intolerant should avoid it, though I understand Rivella Yellow is made with soy instead of milk.

There are 4 flavors: Red Rivella, Blue Rivella, Green Rivella, and Yellow Rivella.

No, I can’t say Rivella tastes “milky”. Not that I would mind but it was hot, I was thirsty, and I drank my fair share.

No, I can't say Rivella tastes “milky”. Not that I would have minded but it was hot, I was thirsty, and so I drank my fair share while I was in Switzerland.

Red is the original, Blue is low cal, Green is made with green tea, and Yellow is soy.

Green and Red were my favorites.

Funny story: When I went through customs leaving Zurich, the customs official laughed when he saw what I was bringing home as a foodie souvenir. No chocolate to speak of but bottles of Rivella. Swiss humor.
