call of duty: world at war
Using the base of Call of Duty 4
Treyarch Studios set to work on Call of Duty World at War. Enhancing the graphics and adding more weapons than their previous WWII games, Treyarch seemed to have a great game on their hands. When the beta version of the online mode came out, I was late to get in. But i got in and was a little suspicious about the rumors I heard. "Oh you can climb trees!"
My intial reaction was underwhelming. I played on the map called Makin, it's on the beaches of an island in the Pacific. There's a series of bridges and forests. As I played on using my trusty thompson I realized that this is pretty much a WWII version of Call of Duty 4. I'm all for another Call of Duty 4, but I think WWII games are done.
The story line was 10 times better than what I thought it was going to be. Like COD4 COD: WAW has a two people storyline. One being an American soldier fighting the Japanese, and a Russian soldier fighting the German. In the Russian campaign you are expirencing the end of the war by invading Berlin. In the American campaign you are in the middle of the war.
Now at the end of the game you unlock the Nazi zombie mode. This is playable by two players on the same XBox as the entire storyline is. Online you can play the whole storyline minus the sniper misson with four players. Nazi zombie mode is also available with four players.
