Weather Watch Park

Weather Watch Park, is on Alki at 4035 Beach Dr SW in West Seattle. It's very small and many drive by and never notice it.

This is an interesting park for a number of reasons. My favorite feature is the inlay in the park bench. It's a plaque showing the mountains you're looking at across Puget Sound. The various peaks in the Olympics are identified in the sculpture.

Local artist Lezlie Jane, the Alki Community Council, and neighbors used a Neighborhood Matching Fund award to create this art-filled pocket park in the early 90's. Highlights include a triangular column with a weather vane on top and a sundial.
