One of the hidden gems in my neighborhood is the Walker Rock Garden> It's an piece of folk art here in West Seattle WA. The crackup is that 99 out of 100 locals haven't even heard about it, let alone been there.

The Walker Rock Garden was built by Milton and Florence Walker. By hand. A true labor of love. It was done over a period of years and years. Call it Seattle's Watts Towers.

Stone and glass are everywhere. In the backyard of a house in an unassuming neighborhood. (I used to rent a house 5 doors away.) It's just one of those things you just have to see to believe.

The Walker Rock Garden is located at 5407 37th Ave SW, West Seattle. It's open to the public on a set schedule. Someone still lives there and we should respect their privacy. Please call 206.935.3036 for the current hours of operation.
