Download & Install Your Own Custom Windows Sounds
Now you can change the sounds your computer makes using these MP3 files. Use them as replacement Windows sounds for things like Windows error sounds. Better yet, put them on friends and co-workers' machines. These custom Windows system sounds are MP3 files. Try them. Play with them. Come back and get more.
Right click on the filenames you want in the list below. Select Save File As to save it to your hard disk. Then use the Sounds and Audio Devices Control Panel to assign it to a specific Windows event. The files are loosely arranged by type of event.
Later • Oops... • Uh oh • What the... • Oh shit • My bad • You've got spam! • Flush
Ring • Ring Too • Tell me something I don't know • Oh yeah • Yeah right
No more monkeys jumping on the bed • You've got to be kidding
Add a new sound through the Sounds and Audio Devices Control panel (Start/Settings/Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices/Sounds). You can assign new sounds to system events like start Windows and exit Windows. Amaze your friends anc co-workers!
Audio Poems
These are what I call audio poems. I write them as text and use text-to-speech tools to create them. I force my defenseless computer to vocalize on my behalf.
In addition to the words and concepts themselves, I like the juxtaposition of mechanical voices speaking of human frailties. (I probably use the word "juxtaposition" more than anyone else you know.)
Listen to Emma Clarke's London tube announcements. I only wish I was that clever!
Well if you like these sounds, you're going to love my free cell phone ringtones. Trust me, they're not like any other ringtones out there. I promise...
