Looking for Rick Rolling? You've probably just been "Rickrolled". Sorry about that.
Of course Wikipedia has a article about Rick Rolling. It's a prank, an internet meme.
Seems there was a guy, Rick Astley, who had a song, "Never Gonna Give You Up".
The song has a video. People link to the Rick Astley's music video when you're looking for something else. You Google "Rick Roll" or "rickrolling" and surprise you get linked to Rick Astley's video on YouTube. If this happens to you, you just been rickrolled.
April Fool's Day or not, it's a prank. Kinda like a Google Pig. You know, zonkdogfology.
So how does it work? I say, "Dude, here's this hot video you just gotta see. It's the one I was telling you about. Just click here." If your intended victim might recognize the YouTube link, use TinyURL to mask the destination. Like this.
And you do. And BAM! You've just been rick rolled! Now wasn't that fun? Bet you can't wait to do it to someone else, ehhh?
In another case of life imitating art, Rick has setup his own YouTube presence. Here's what Mr. Astley has to say. The whole thing has even sparked a Firefox extension too.
