The 17000 Hz Mosquito Ringtone. The high pitch, high frequency cellphone ringtone adults can't hear.

Mosquito Ringtone 17000 Hz

Students put "The Mosquito Ringtone" also known as "Teen Buzz" on their cell phones. They can hear this 17KHz ringtone but many teachers and parents can't.

As we age, we lose the ability to hear high frequencies. If the pitch is high enough, many adults can't hear it but kids can.

Try listening to it in headphones if you can. Your cell phone's frequency response may not reproduce 17000 Hz. WAV files sound better than MP3 files because MP3 use lossey compression unlike WAV files.

I'm 53 and I can't hear it but my three teenaged sons all can.
