Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle Nov 27, 1942. He died in London on Sep 18, 1970 and is buried in Seattle. Well, in Renton actually at the Greenwood Memorial Park.
The grave used to be a modest affair. There was a family plot with space for other relatives to be buried there as well. The pictures of my three sons in black leather jackets was taken at the old grave site. My friend David did a rubbing of the gravestone that I should photograph and put up here too.
A few years back Hendrix's grave site was redone. Almost a Hollywood meets Nashville Rolling Stone celebrity destination grave site on the tour bus circuit. It was a shock when I went back there recently. I have no idea who was behind this.
