The Black Panther Party for Self Defense

I've collected photos and ephemera relating to the civil rights movement especially the Black Panther Party. Here are some photos you may not have seen before. Some are wire service photos, others come from original negatives. I also own what can best be described as ephemera: posters, leaflets, periodicals, books, pamphlets, wanted posters, etc. Over time I hope to make more available here.

It is my sincere hope that this small act of sharing will help others understand and appreciate the work and contribution the Black Panther Party made to the civil rights movement, the fight against oppression, and the struggle for human dignity. I was not in the Party but always admired what they did. Over the last several years I've started collecting photos and other material and it's time I shared some of that. If there are specific items you're looking for, images you'd like to see, or other questions, please contact me.

The history of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense is often incomplete, misguided, and divorced from the larger social and political changes sweeping the planet. It's gratifying to see post priori acceptance and gratitude for all that the Party did for all of us.

All power to the people! (And don't believe what you read in Wikipedia about the BPP.)
